Wildlife photography workshop
Samy Berkani is a wildlife and nature photographer. His photography projects take him to the vast deserts of the Sahara and the Arctic. But it is in the heart of the French Jura mountains that he has chosen to make his home. Between forests, meadows, lakes and rivers, he accompanies photographers and nature lovers on immersive days out.

Whatever your level and experience, this course will be tailored to your needs. It will also be geared to the areas that interest you: wildlife photography, macro photography, landscape photography, etc.
Beyond photography, a love of nature
Samy Berkani is a lover of nature in its wildest form. This photo workshop is above all an invitation to look at nature and accept it unconditionally. You’ll learn to blend in with your surroundings, to understand nature’s timing and to look at things with fresh eyes. Before you press the shutter release, you’ll learn to appreciate the special moments that nature has to offer.
An ethical approach
These photo workshops are not shooting sessions for spectacular wildlife photographs. Instead, you will learn about the practices and techniques involved in wildlife and nature photography in a way that is responsible and respectful of the species around you.
There are fee-paying blinds where animals are fed in order to be photographed, but these practices are totally excluded from the photo workshops offered here.
In the heart of the wild Jura
The photo workshops take place in the heart of the wild Jura mountains. Depending on the theme, you can discover wetlands such as lakes and rivers, the discreet life of forests or the fabulous adaptation of certain species to open (agricultural) environments.
If you live in another region, accommodation can be arranged, especially for the multi-day workshops.

ONE-DAY PHOTO WORKSHOP – PRICE €250
Ideal for a discovery day or to tackle specific subjects. You can arrive on the day of the workshop or the day before, for an outing at first light.
Monday to Friday by prior arrangement.
TWO-DAY PHOTO WORKSHOP – PRICE €450
For two days, Samy will be immersing you in Jura mountains and helping you to discover wildlife and landscape photography, the different methods (stalking, approach, etc.) and to learn or perfect your photography technique.
This workshop can include post-processing training on Lightroom.
Monday to Friday by prior arrangement.
The world of wildlife and nature photography
Wildlife and nature photography is a world of enthusiasts. To enter it is to become an artist, a naturalist and a hiker all in one. You’ll learn to slow down, observe, meditate and question. The doors to the wild will open if you accept the rules. Sometimes your body will say “stop”. Sometimes your spirits will be low after a long period of waiting. But these special moments will always make you want to go out again the next day and ask yourself new questions.
Wildlife photography is about seeing the world as it is, not as humans intended it to be.
